Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard file size limit enforced by the tool — it is constrained only by your browser's available memory. Very large images (50 MB+) may take a moment to process and preview.
Will the image dimensions change when converting?
No. The tool preserves the original pixel dimensions of the image. Only the file format (and optionally the compression quality for JPG) is changed.
What quality setting should I use for JPG output?
For web use, 75–85 is a good balance between visual quality and file size. For print or archiving where quality is paramount, use 90–100. Below 60 the compression artifacts become clearly visible.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All image processing is done entirely in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your image is never transmitted to any external server.
