About QR Codes

QR codes can encode URLs, plain text, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, and more. All generation happens entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to any server.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Type or paste the text, URL, or data you want to encode into the input field.
  2. Adjust the QR code size and error correction level if needed — higher error correction makes codes scannable even when partially damaged.
  3. The QR code preview updates in real time as you type.
  4. Click "Download" to save the QR code as a PNG image ready to print or embed on your website.

Common Use Cases

  • Adding a scannable link to printed marketing materials, business cards, and flyers.
  • Embedding a URL to your Wi-Fi network credentials so guests can connect without typing a password.
  • Linking physical products to digital manuals, warranty registration pages, or tutorial videos.
  • Creating contactless menus for restaurants and cafes.
  • Sharing your social media profile or portfolio URL at networking events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data can I encode in a QR code?

QR codes can encode URLs, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, Wi-Fi credentials, vCards (contact info), and more. The maximum capacity is about 7,089 numeric characters or 4,296 alphanumeric characters.

What is error correction level?

QR codes include redundant data so they can still be scanned if part of the code is damaged or obscured. Level L recovers 7% of data, M recovers 15%, Q recovers 25%, and H recovers 30%. Use H if you plan to add a logo over the centre.

What is the ideal size for a printed QR code?

For comfortable scanning with a smartphone, aim for at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inches). For scanning at distances greater than 1 metre, scale up proportionally.

Can I customise colours or add a logo to QR codes?

The tool generates standard black-and-white QR codes. If you need branded QR codes with custom colours or a logo overlay, make sure to test scanability carefully, since colour changes can reduce contrast and reliability.
